00:00:00 Trist: Bit of a van life jobs day. Work, washing and then maybe a walk. Three W’s. Turns out you can get a lot more in these things than you think. Just ran back to the van to get some more washing. Hoping no one would nick my dirty washing
[00:00:20] Trist: Shall we get to it?
[00:00:22] Kez: Yeah, let’s hit the road.
[00:00:23] Trist: Come on.
[00:00:25] Trist & Kez: We’re in Scotland.
[00:00:28] Trist: Hey we're Trist and Kez and we live and work in our 34-year-old campervan old Gertie with Frank and Murphy. Follow us as we travel the UK from Countryside to coastlines and everything in between. Showing you the sights and delights the UK has to offer.
[00:00:47] Trist: Welcome back folks we are at Megget Reservoir. So we left Grey Mare’s Tail yesterday. Drove about 10 miles around the corner, 20 minute drive. Absolutely beautiful drive. We came around to Megget Reservoir. We wanted to just experience this. It's just been incredible. It's so quiet. One road that runs around the reservoir, that we drove. Every once in a while, you get a car, a farmer or a cyclist. It’s so peaceful and quiet here. It really is incredible. We got here yesterday about two or three o'clock. set up some seats to enjoy the view. Thought that having a fire but um then later on came, once the sun started setting the midges went mental and I don't think it's as crazy as they are in other places in Scotland. But got out felt like you had lice running all over your face and skin so we didn't stay out for long and got straight back in the van. The moon and the stars last night was stunning. Reflecting off the water I wish I could have got out and had a look at the stars properly I reckon it would have been incredible.
[00:01:41] Trist: I had my Scottish breakfast last night for dinner. The saltiest thing I think I've ever possibly eaten. So I don't think I'll have another one of those. Might get a Scottish pie today.
[00:01:48] Trist: I’ll go and grab Kez and then we can tell you what we're gonna get up to today.
[00:01:52] Trist: Hey Kez.
[00:01:54] Kez: Hey guys
[00:01:56] Trist: Tell us your feelings on Megget Reservoir
[00:01:58] Kez: It is beautiful, peaceful and serene. Everything you could expect from the Reservoir in Scotland.
[00:02:07] Trist: What are we up to today?
[00:02:10] Kez: We are having a jobs day today aren't we? We need to go find some washing machines and, good internet signal to do some work. Get water, shower uh yeah the jobs it's a job day. A sunny jobs day.
[00:02:21] Trist: A van life jobs day.
[00:02:23] Kez: Yes a very large jobs day
[00:02:24] Trist: Right should we uh get to it
[00:02:26] Kez: Yeah, let’s hit the road.
[00:02:27] Trist: Come on
[00:03:12] Trist: Alright let's go and do some washing. Using one of these like service station self-service washing machines. Usually, they're like the Revolute laundry ones. But this one I think is a Kis Wash. So no card payments. Gotta go and get some change which we got from the Esso station.
[00:03:27] Trist: All right so around the back of the Esso station you've got one of these little bad boys. Only 18 kilos. Turns out you can get a lot more in these things than you think. Just ran back to the van to get some more washing. Hoping no one would nick my dirty washing.
[00:03:51] Trist: £10 a wash, 18 kilos. Cash in there. Right, it's washing done. 42-minute cycle. Back to the van, get some work done hey.
[00:04:02] Trist: So uh just doing a bit of work and then you know got a pretty big car park here. Pretty big car parking, with space behind there. But this fella just, this fella parked here. He's trying to figure out how to get out of his car. My question to you would be yeah don't park so close when there are loads of parking spaces, easily accessible. This is mental, absolutely mental. Oh, he can't get outside his actual driver's door so he's getting at his side door. We came to Scotland to get rid of this kind of behaviour.
[00:04:45] Trist: All right so we've done all our work. Well as much as we could get done. Laptops still uploading. Done our washing, done work. I'll get water and washed. Where are we off to? Let's find out.
[00:04:57] Trist: So we hit the road and headed to a cheeky BritStops. It was close by and the highest Pub in Scotland. With water and electricity available. It was a winner. Jobs day, completed it mate! Until next time folks bye for now.
