Yes, you read that right, £10 a night! If you have watched our
YouTube video on how to find low-cost campsites then you will know we love a farmer's field. These are often very basic sites consisting of a field and not much more. However this one comes with something extra special, not only do you have a stunning sea view you can also access the beach right from the field! A popular spot with surfers and you will see for yourself why when you visit.
The west coastal path also crosses the bottom of the field which makes for a lovely walk into
Bude where you pass…. With its very own tidal pool. Alternatively, you can walk in the opposite direction where you will find …. Which is a spot where we actually saw ‘the salt path’ being filmed or you can wander further along to Duck Pool.
The site itself is simple and unspoiled. A farmer's field in in truest form, you often share the space with grazing sheep which does mean its a dogs-on-leads policy. There are no facilities aside from one toilet and a water tap so for that reason make sure you come prepared to take your rubbish home with you.
This isn't a bookable site nor are their contact details. You just turn up, pitch up where you choose and later in the day the very lovely farmers will come around to take your money.
A few things to note.
The field is entirely grass so if the weather has been particularly wet then be prepared it might be tricky. The track which leads to the site is also quite steep and very uneven so be careful if you are travelling in a low-set vehicle or a partially long one. Although during our stays we have seen some pretty big motorhomes and even a caravan so it is possible!
Finally, to add.
There is a fabulous little cafe/bar called
Sip and Sea at the bottom of the track which leads to the field where they often have live music, local food vans and well-being classes. Grab yourself a take away or sit in the stream split garden and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
I think the pictures speak for themselves in this lovely little spot but if there is anything we have missed then you can always send us a message and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
